Despite appearing repetitive, we couldn’t resist taking more photos in this picturesque setting.

Arriving in Slovenia...
The following day, we said our good-byes and headed into Slovenia. Our apartment was just a few blocks from Lake Bled, which we walked to immediately after we dropped off our stuff.
Bled is known for its special vanilla and custard cream cake (kremna rezina) and we didn’t waste any time finding a waterfront café to try some.
After our snack, Jimmy and Ashlynn rode the rodelbahn (summer toboggan), while Veronica and I read while sitting along the shore.

Exploring Rovinj...
We spent much of the next day exploring the quaint alleys of Rovinj.
The kids were happy to split off from us for exploring. We met them back at the hotel in the afternoon to cool off in the pool, then split back up to enjoy separate dinners. Not surprisingly, our dinner featured a lot of seafood, while their highlight was a lot of ice cream.
The kids attempted to find several geocaches, but this was their only success.

A Little Piece of Italy...
We spent our final two nights with Vivynne and family in the picturesque and romantic city of Rovinj, originally a port built by the Romans on an island. Jimmy and I ventured out that first night in search of some music. We let an old cowboy talk us into trying a Mexican restaurant, which featured decent margaritas and a great singer/guitarist.
