First Greek Test Shoot...

Ashlynn had several test shoots while in Athens. Her first was this unusual vintage-style shoot by Greek photographer Efi Gousi. Ashlynn said she was told to look dead, which she did a particularly good job of in this shot.

The other model was Ukranian, but surprisingly it was Ashlynn that was dressed as a babuska. 

Second Couture Show...

That same evening Ashlynn walked in the Autumn/Winter 2018/2019 Haute Couture Show for MI-RO, a Greek design duo.  

The red floor and pillars of red flowers looked quite surreal. Go to 3:35 on this video to see Ashlynn for yourself.

First Couture Show...

On the final day of fashion week in Athens, Ashlynn walked in two haute couture shows featuring custom-fitted high-end clothes. The first show was for Greek designer Vassillis Zoulias in the atrium of Zappeion Hall, built in 1888 as the first purpose-built building for the modern Olympics. 

Since the venue was a circle, there wasn’t the standard end of the catwalk for each model to be photographed. Instead, rather than having seats, a section of the circle was set up as a photo studio.

All my digging around paid off as I found these cool close-ups.

Such a bummer that we missed watching Ashlynn in such a spectacular venue.

More Urbex...

I managed to get lost on trail, but luckily I wasn’t alone. Rumple and I both enjoy photography, so stuck together and took a bunch of photos of the abandoned buildings.

Can’t remember which building was which, but one of these photos is likely from the remnants of a brick-making factory dating back to 1721.

Eventually Opee hunted me down and led us to the beer check and then we were on trail for the remainder of the hash. It was great fun!

Beware of Zombies...

Perhaps because it was hared by hashers from Holland instead of Belgium that there was a lack of volunteers to be zombies. Was surprised there would just be three zombies, but they were damn fine zombies. Here is Give It a Blow chasing Opee...

...and Higgins and Strobe My Balls goofing around zombie-style. I was disappointed to be caught by Higgins, the slowest of the three zombies. Luckily, getting caught was painless and had no long-term repercussions.

Strobe really got into his role...

...and caught many straggling hashers.

Another Zombie Hash...

It was a sunny day in the beginning of November when we drove to Boom, Belgium with Reinhardt and Inga for our fourth Zombie Hash with the Brussels Manneke Piss H3. This time it was hared by Celine and Richard from Holland’s FILTH H3. We weren’t impressed with Boom when we stopped in the city center for lunch, but it turned out to be a great location to be chased by zombies.

The weather was nice and the turnout was great. 

 

It didn’t take long before we were running past...

...and through abandoned buildings.

Giving Back at FoodCycle...

While Ashlynn was being photographed in Athens, Veronica was being photographed while she was volunteering for the first time at FoodCycle, a UK non-profit trying to combat hunger and loneliness by using rescued food to serve healthy meals to those in need. Since that first week in November, Veronica dedicates her Friday nights to either prep, cook, serve or clean-up for the weekly three-course meal for those in need (usually between 80-100 people per week).

She’s been such an enthusiastic volunteer that she’s been asked to become a team leader. She’s also helping with their social media.

First Greek Editorial...

Athens is considered a secondary fashion market, thus one for models hoping to get some cool shots for their portfolio rather than in hopes of making a lot of money. It was quite thrilling that Ashlynn was chosen for an editorial for the December issue of Beaute magazine. In my mind I was picturing her posed next to Greek ruins, but instead she was wearing designer clothes in a carpet store with different carpets used as the backdrops. I hope you’ll agree that the results turned out pretty spectacular. 

Elsewhere on Halloween...

Ashlynn also dressed up on Halloween. In her case it wasn’t to hash or go clubbing, but for her first time on the catwalk in Athens.

It was ironic that such care was taken on her eyes...

...considering her first look. She was super excited to be wearing such cool shades.

This was her first look for designer Sotiris Georgiou during Athens Xclusive Fashion Week (AXFW). 

The AXFW Instagram page declared her outfit the most viral of the show. She was also featured in the Greek magazine Gala. Impressive to end up in a magazine just eight days after arriving in the country. 

This was taken backstage in her second outfit. 

She was relieved to see from the photos and video (at 0:47) that she did not have a wardrobe malfunction. 

As is often tradition, the designer posed with all of the models after the finale.
