A Family Affair...

I was thrilled that Ashlynn was willing to pose with me at the end of the evening. Of course, she towered over me in her first set of stilettos.
As always, we had fun taking photos.

Bye Bye Blue Volunteers...

Veronica was happy that two of her closest friends were also volunteering at the dance. Adelina was in charge of the cupcakes, which featured edible photos of each student, and Maria was her assistant.

More Friends...

The Girls...

SquishPics were again popular this year; while Jimmy and Veronica worked in the atrium, I wandered the crowds taking candids. It was great that Ashlynn finally got to have some photos taken with her friends. Here she is with Sophie.
Here she is with Liv, who moved to Jakarta in August, and Georgia.
This goofy photo is with Josie, who moved into our neighborhood in August.
And here is Sara, one of a set of triplets.

Bye Bye Blue...

The kids were given a bunch of goodies when they arrived including a bracelet and goofy sunglasses. They were also served dinner, all cooked by volunteers.
I actually climbed up a ladder to capture shots of the entire year group.
Unlike previous years, the students weren’t allowed to release helium balloons at the end of the evening. Instead, some teachers released Chinese lanterns, which were like mini hot air balloons rising above the school.

Getting to Bye Bye Blue...

Since Jimmy, Veronica and I were busy helping to set up to take SquishPics at the school, we didn’t get to see Ashlynn when she got ready at Sophie’s for the Year 9 (8th Grade) Bye Bye Blue Dance...
...or when she got into a limo for the first time. Luckily, I was there when she stepped out of the stretch SUV in front of the school.
It was very kind of one of the boys to treat the rest of the kids to the limo ride. Ashlynn loved it!

Entertainment at Schiphol...

Air travel isn’t much fun most days, but Veronica and I had a good laugh at Schiphol on July 4 when we flew to Southampton in Southern England.
We thoroughly enjoyed this temporary addition to the terminal.
