Ashlynn’s First Gay Pride...

We were glad that Ashlynn arrived in time to watch some of the parade.
She was joined by several of her BSN friends, including Sarah.
Per Jimmy’s request, she brought her DJ kit to crank some tunes once the parade was over.
At the same time, the boat in front of us lifted the temporary floating barriers and motored away.
There were only a few diehard hashers still left at that point.

Pride Messages...

Several of the boats included important messages.
Others were important because of which country they were representing...
...or what occupation, such as police officers...
...firefighters...
...and paramedics.

A Wide Variety of Rainbows...

Not only did the boat that was docked in front of us have a lot of folks in rainbows, a lot of the floats featured rainbows.
This rainbow boat was led by a queen in peacock feathers...
...and this boat was reminiscent of the Day of the Dead.
Here’s lots more rainbows for your viewing enjoyment.

Across the Canal...

Just across the canal from us was a group of six guys with coordinated outfits that presumably had rented the houseboat for the big event.
It was quite entertaining watching them practicing in high heels.
Clearly we weren’t the only ones that found them entertaining.

Gay Pride Canal Boat Parade...

Once again, the parade began with someone on a Flyboard—this time it was Neptune doing tricks...
...followed by Salacia, Goddess of the Sea.
Throughout the parade, there were many more queens.
This was a clever version of the XXX posts found all over Amsterdam.

Gay for a Day Hash...

Opee once again was happy to hare a Gay Pride Hash, but this year he took it one step further and borrowed a party tent so we could have a dedicated place to watch the parade in the shade. While the rest of us were on trail—which he live laid—a few willing hashers kindly stayed behind to camp out at the site.
Pink was happy to stay behind.
Lucy always gets into dressing up for Pride.
He’s daring, but didn’t run like this. He got more risque while we were watching the parade.
Not everyday that you see this either. This visiting hasher didn’t do trail, but joined us to watch the parade.
Visitor Hoover Daamn was happy to loan me her colorful hat for a photo. I was impressed to learn that she’s a flight attendant in the US Air Force in Germany, and is also a chef so she can cater to the bigwigs on her planes.
Opee was very pleased that his plans all worked, we had a really good turnout and everyone had a great time.

Gay Pride Street Party...

Abbie joined us and so did Sarah, who was staying with Bob and Lisa. In a small world moment, I had actually met her years ago when visiting Marc when he used to live in DC.
The street party was completely packed by the time we got there, so we gave up on trying to actually be able to see the stage for the Drag Queen Olympics.
Instead we stood towards the back, drank some wine, ate some snacks and watched the world go by.
