The Cable District...

We thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the large shell of a former manufacturing plant, located directly behind the microbrewery. Giant cables were once made there until the operations moved next door. 

The huge building is now the temporary home to a hodgepodge of small businesses. It is slated to be completely redeveloped into 3,500 homes and a large commercial space starting sometime in 2023. 

As we rounded each corner, we never knew what we’d encounter.

It sure made for a fun photo safari.

 

New Favorite Brewery...

At the end of October, Jimmy and I went to Delft to visit a large thrift shop in search of party music for some upcoming hash parties that he’s going to DJ. Along our walk on the outskirt of the city, we came across the Powder Magazine built in 1660, which included this gatehouse...

…a guardhouse and weigh-house...

…and the powder magazine itself, which was a tower surrounded by water. Today the complex is used for the Scouts.

More exciting was that we came across The Copper Cat, an excellent microbrewery founded in 2011. 

Due to some unexpected rain, we spent a few hours hanging out with the two bartenders eating cheese and fries and trying several of their beers. One was made with algae! Our favorite was Rum Forrest Rum, infused with a Spanish rum distilled just for the brewery. 

Girl with a Pearl Earring was painted in Delft, so a fitting mascot.

 

Stork and More Storks...

It was a beautiful day for a long walk through the woods. We passed this funky lady...

…and a World War II bunker.

Much more exciting was coming upon a big bunch of storks...

…and a swan couple.
 

Fall in the Japanese Garden...

On October 28, Sally and I did a walk through the Haagse Bos...

…and Clingendael Park...

...to reach our main destination: the Japanese Garden to see the fall leaves.

We were clearly not the only ones with that idea...

…but amazingly still managed to take some shots not filled with people.

This is my favorite shot, taken from under the canopy of leaves (must admit this wasn’t my idea, but watching another photographer has changed how I photograph trees).

It was nice of this crane to pose just as we were leaving the garden.

 

Hashing in Eindhoven...

The October Brabant H3 trail was in Eindhoven. Along the way to the hares’ house, we came across these giant bowling pins...

…a nice reflection of a church...

…and some urban art.

It was a beautiful fall day with bright blue skies for our beer stop in the park.

Opee and Waaah couldn’t resist climbing this big structure.

Pink borrowed a bike and enjoyed solving a bunch of the checks. I enjoyed finding this reflection of the beautiful fall leaves. 
 

Spotted on a Pub Crawl...

Opee hared a pub crawl for the FILTH’s World Peace Through Beer trail starting at his office in The Hague. Along the trail we spotted some urban art...

…and several fashion displays including a fancy one at a hotel...

…a digital display on the stairs to the big movie theater complex...

…and one at a lingerie store. Opee couldn’t resist commenting on the bra party.
