Our two-night visit to Athens centered around two things: ruins and shopping. In addition to visiting the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus, we wandered through the Agora to see the Forum and an intact temple. We also went to the antique market and watched the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The pedestrian area was rather touristy, but we all enjoyed looking for trinkets. We bought the girls Greek coin necklaces, both clearly reproductions. Veronica is now reconsidering her desire to study Roman archaeology and thinking she might concentrate on Greek instead.
