Towards the Golden Gate...

Eventually, we made our way towards the Golden Gate. First we went to an overlook with lots of other tourists...
...then we climbed Slacker Ridge and had a viewpoint all to ourselves. Considering how steep it was, I definitely didn’t feel at all like a slacker.
Shortly after Slacker Ridge, we hit a particularly windy ridge. Apparently it must be windy there quite regularly as there was plastic coated steel cables set up to hold onto so we wouldn’t get blown off the ridge. This part of the trail shown was much more to my liking and gave me a chance to try out my walking poles.
Eventually we made it down to Sausalito. On our way to another seafood restaurant for dinner, we came across this fellow. At first glace you might think he was fishing, but he was actually flying a kite and allowed Jimmy a chance to try it. Our total hike was 17.6 miles (28.4 kilometers). What a great day!
