Ashlynn’s Golden Birthday...

May 16 wasn’t just a holiday; it was also Ashlynn’s Golden Birthday: her 16th birthday on the 16th. Her big GCSE exams started the next day, so we didn’t do a big dinner out that night. Instead we had lunch at Vlietland. Kati is clearly very comfortable in the canoe as she jumped in before Jimmy or Ashlynn told her to.

Ashlynn, however, wasn’t as graceful as Kati getting into the boat.

Luckily, she wasn’t injured and came up smiling.

Normally we go out for a big sushi dinner for Ashlynn’s birthday, but since she’s now vegan she decided that a vegan meal would make more sense. So, on Friday the 13th, we went to The Tea Lab, a café in Rotterdam that serves a vegan high tea.
