Final Visit to Norwich...
Not only was Veronica’s time in Norwich coming to an end, but so was Jimmy’s and my time in this lovely city. We had one final weekend to help her pack up and squeeze in some fun. We went to an adult aerial circus show, which was rather eye-opening....
...explored several cocktail bars...
...and took lots of random photos.

Non-Human Sculptures...
There were plenty of interesting non-human sculptures as well, including this large bunny...
...colorful tunnel...
...creepy Dementor...
...oversized puppy...
...cool silver carriage made from recycled metal by an artist from Curacao...
....as well as this creative use of metal car bumpers.
The final artwork I saw wasn’t officially part of ArtZuid, but was a fun interactive water play area in a park near the stadium. Clearly you had to watch where you sat as there was no telling when one of the fountains would spring to life.
You just never know what you’ll encounter on a train late at night. That evening there was another farewell dinner at Steve and Patti’s. We made the last train back in the nick of time and I had a rather unusual close encounter after Jimmy encouraged a stranger with a pet chicken to put it on my shoulder.

Human Sculptures...
I loved that The Corner Piece by Sachi Miyachi had stairs built into it, clearly inviting interaction with little people.
Jan Fabre had another interesting piece: The Man Who Gives Fire.
It was fun posing with the Hash with Marc Quinn’s Myth (Sphinx), but I never did get to see the finished photo.
My favorite series of sculptures were these three floating high in the sky near the Olympic Stadium: Athlete I, II, III by Jerzy Kedziora.

Visiting ArtZuid with Ashlynn...
After Ashlynn saw some of the photos from the Hash through ArtZuid, a biennial exhibition of 80 sculptures, she was interested in going with me to explore more closely before attending a DJ lecture.
We got a good laugh out of the two Jesus statues by Tony Mateli...
...and pondered at Seven Bathtubs and the Man Who Writes on Water by Jan Fabre.
Ashlynn especially enjoyed Penetrable BBL Bleu by Jesus Rafael Soto.
I know it’s not much of a selfie, but I couldn’t resist.

Steve and Patti’s Farewell Party...
In addition to two Farewell Hashes (one in Amsterdam and another in Utrecht), Steve and Patti hosted a party at their house in their tiny village outside of Utrecht before the movers came to pack them up for their move to Virginia.
Just behind their house was a new swan family, which John was excited to photograph on his new camera.
When Ashlynn heard we were going to a house party, she volunteered to bring her DJ deck and provide the music, which was a big hit.
She did some quick training so that Jimmy could take over when she left to catch the last bus to the station so she could meet friends for dancing in Amsterdam.
Jimmy, Kati and I spent the night, so Jimmy continued to spin tunes until the wee hours.Summertime Hashing...
We hashed a lot over the summer and were impressed with how large some of the packs were.
I continued to have fun being the Religious Adviser for both Amsterdam H3 and the FILTH H3.While I didn’t enjoy drinking out of my shoe, I did enjoy getting Kevin to drink out of my other one...
...while Steve clearly enjoyed drinking out of this unusual mug.
...and Jimmy poking his head under this golden nugget.
Historically, Amsterdam H3’s logo featured a pig, so it was only natural for us to pose with this giant pig.

Final Self-Portraits in Norfolk...
Veronica continued to take self-portraits during her final days in Norwich, including one on this lovely historic cobblestone street.
She also ventured outside of Norwich. These two were taken in Cromer, where I had visited with her earlier in the spring. These two were especially spectacular, taken by her new drone, which she bought herself as a graduation gift.
While these two photos don’t qualify as self-portraits, Veronica also continued to volunteer at FoodCycle...
...and take aerial classes until she left Norwich.
