Valuable Lessons Learned on a French Train...


* Don’t assume there’ll be a working toilet on a 2-hour train journey after downing a large Leffe Noel at the train station. 

* Always remember that it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission. When 2nd class is overflowing on a toiletless 2-hour journey, grab the last seats in 1st class and beg the conductor for mercy to upgrade. Then be thankful that the Dutch travel agent overcharged for the tickets and there was no extra charge.

That's a great example of "travel magic" when something good happens to good people...call it Karma on the Road. AT hikers call it "trail magic"...no matter what you call it, it sounded like a fun trip.
