A Little Sightseeing...

This trip was unusual because we didn’t visit any museums or churches. However, we did manage to see several important historic sites including the Brandenburg Gate, which was built in 1791. It was heavily damaged in World War II and then left isolated by the Berlin Wall before finally being fully restored in 2002.
We also saw the Reichstag, the parliament building built in 1894. It was severely damaged by a fire in 1933 and not fully restored until 1999.
Veronica caught this cool reflection photo. She toured the building when she visited in 2012.
It’s impossible to tell in this photo, but this fellow actually had a hibachi attached to the front of his bike to warm the bretzels. Unfortunately, they looked better than they tasted.
