Ballbreaker on Shetland Island...

After breakfast on Friday, we had to catch tenders to get from the ship to the port at Lerwick, the main town of the Shetland Islands and Scotland’s most easterly and northerly town (123 miles off the north coast of the mainland). Then we caught buses to our trails. Jimmy did the Ballbreaker, a half-marathon length trail that he thought was amazing.
There were no mountains, but rather lots of hills covered in heather...
...and grasses.
He especially loved the first drink stop, in the ruins of an old house...
...that they had to climb a ladder to get into.
It was a large group, but they all managed to fit inside.
He also loved getting to pet Shetland ponies.
He couldn’t resist drinking a White Wife, especially fitting since I could be described that way.
