After the Hangover Hash, we headed back to the former Sanatorium du Basil to explore further and take many, many photos. Veronica did some research, which she details in her post about our adventure. This building was built to treat tuberculosis patients from 1903 until 1947, bravely hiding Jews among the patients during World War II. If you look closely, you can see patients on the bottom right of this postcard that Veronica found online.
Later it was used as a rehabilitation center, nursing home and refugee center. It finally closed in 2013 and has been trashed by vandals and haunted by zombies ever since. The front of the building was especially dramatic.
Veronica was excited to get her drone up in the air.
Love this dramatic aerial shot that she caught.
