Our Camel Caravan...

Our next adventure was to go on a camel trek into the Sahara. Our camels were in a dirt parking lot just outside of a small village where the Draa Valley meets the Sahara Desert, which was actually quite near the Algerian border.

Ashlynn named her camel Carmel

Veronica rode the only black camel,
which she named Fonce (dark in French)

Our ride into the desert took about an hour. We had saddles, which made the camels much more comfortable to ride than the mules. Since the camels were tied together, most of our view was of the camel in front of us. We were lucky because there was no wind at all.
