The O2...

Jimmy and I left Camilla and Tristram’s after breakfast to check into a hotel in the London Docklands area as a chance to see a new part of town. Unfortunately, there actually wasn’t much to do right next to the hotel, so we hopped on the Emirates Air Line, a cable car from Docklands to the Greenwich Peninsula. 

It was crazy going over the many new high-rise apartment buildings being built along the Thames.

 There’s lots of cool architecture both beside...

 ...and inside The O2, a giant entertainment district.

The stores along The Avenue, resembling a futuristic shopping mall, were closed on that Sunday late afternoon.

 Luckily the bars were open and we enjoyed stopping for happy hour. 

If you look closely you can see people walking up the outside of The O2, which we hope to do someday. From here we headed to Canary Wharf for a walk, but it was crazy windy so we cut it short. The restaurants were mostly packed for British Mother’s Day, but we managed to find a pub with some space and had a nice dinner.
