Back in Norwich...

The next morning I caught a train to Norwich for my first springtime visit. Veronica met me at the station and brought me back to her house, which was in a nicer location than the previous house but not in as good of condition. Veronica was happy to share the house with her dear friend Ryan who she lived with previously in Norwich.

After dropping off my luggage, we headed to Plantation Garden, a community garden otherwise known as the Secret Garden.

Built in the 1850s in an abandoned chalk quarry, it fell into disrepair after World War II. It was essentially abandoned until 1980 when a foundation was set up to restore it to its former glory. Maintained by volunteers, a small fee is charged in order to keep the garden open for the public.

It was a lovely garden with some quirky Victorian and Italian touches.
