Visiting Jim and Nina...

Our original summer vacation plan was to go to California with the girls to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday and my parent’s 40th anniversary, with an extra week to explore some California nature. Obviously those plans went pear-shaped due to the global pandemic. Instead Jimmy and I took advantage of Veronica and Brett being able to look after Kati to take an 11-hour journey by train (or rather five trains) to visit Jim and Nina outside of Geneva in mid-July.
We’d only visited them for a brief time during winter, so it was wonderful to see their yard in full bloom with lots of lavender and incredible views of the lake and Alps.
That evening after dinner we took a nice walk around their neighborhood, which included passing a lot of wineries...
…flowers...
…beautiful views...
…quaint little villages...
…weird dolls...
…and lots of sunflowers.
