Opee Hares Red Dress Ballbreaker Trail...

When Opee learned a few days earlier that hares were needed for the Red Dress Ballbreaker Trail, instead of questioning why there would even be a ballbreaker trail that day as that’s not the norm, he volunteered. Turned out he was the only one dumb enough to volunteer. As you can see, there were plenty of hashers dumb enough to run his trail.
Oddly enough, the organizer had planned the trail to just run over all the bridges crossing the river with no checks, ending at a restaurant for an early dinner. He’s clearly not a runner as that would have been an incredibly boring trail, so Opee just went with his gut and made up the trail as he ran.
Of course, he brought the pack through the heart of historic Prague...
…with plenty of photo ops along the way...
…and two impromptu beer stops (none were in the original plan, again confirming that the organizer is clearly not a runner).
What was originally planned to be 22K, stretched out to nearly 30K because the restaurant had been prepaid so the finish couldn’t be altered in order to shorten the last leg of the trail.
From the last beer break, the pack didn’t give Opee much of a head start, so they quickly caught up with him and they ran the final 2K as a group of 27 exhausted but happy hashers. Opee was shocked to learn that the organizer had told the restaurant that they would be arriving hours earlier; apparently he thought they’d run 22K in just 2 hours, which would be race pace instead of hash pace. Most incredibly there were no whiners; everyone agreed it was a great trail with excellent comradery.
