Art Deco in Tokyo...

My last stop was the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum. Built in 1933 as the home of Prince Asaka Yasuhiko, it served as the residence of the Prime Minister from 1947-1950. It opened as a museum in 1983.
Most of the glass pieces were made by Rene Lalique, the famous French glass designer.
This beautiful piece of bronze and marble called Friends Forever was made in 1925 by Demetre Chiparus, a Romanian sculptor.
The dining room was especially lovely with wonderful views of the extensive gardens.
