Life During the Edo Period...

One of my favorite sections of the Edo-Tokyo Museum depicted everyday life during the Edo Period. Here is a carpenter...
 ...and a midwife washing a newborn baby.
Here is a classroom in the teacher’s house. The students needed to provide their own books and desks, which would stacked in a corner after class.
This is a depiction of how wood cut prints were made...
...and the shop that sold the end results. 
And, this was a Geisha and some others going to a Kabuki show.
