C2C Day 1: The Final Stretch...

Day 1: St. Bees to Ennerdale Bridge
We crossed into the Lakes District National Park on our final stretch into Ennerdale Bridge, a small village of 220 inhabitants. We stopped for an excellent dinner at the Shepherds Arm Hotel. It was fun talking to other hikers; it was cool meeting a Dutch woman from The Hague hiking with her father from Eindhoven. After dinner we still had another 1.5 miles to walk to our inn and saw this cute sheep along the way.
We also saw this silly lamb that had his head stuck in the fence.
It was sweet that Kent helped free him.
This horse seemed very excited to see us.
We were surprised when we saw these pink sheep.
After a total of 16.9 miles (27.17K), we reached our destination for the night: Ghyll Farm.
We loved our room in the barn conversion and had a great night’s sleep.
