C2C Day 2: Onto the Northern Shore of Ennerdale Water...

Stage 2: Ennerdale Bridge to Rosthwaite

Turning back took awhile, but not too long. We stopped for a snack and walked around to the northern shore, which was definitely easier than the opposite shore as it didn’t include any opportunities to tumble down a cliff into the deep lake. Jimmy was stubborn and didn’t want to wear rain trousers, so he got pretty soaked even though it wasn’t raining very heavily.

We stopped for lunch under some trees in an area that looked straight out of a fairytale, but no Hobbits, elves, fairies or gnomes made an appearance.

Ahead we saw the hills that we would eventually have to climb.
