From Above and at Street Level...

Veronica was thrilled to have some more opportunities to fly her drone. Here’s the video she made of sunset over Duivenvoorde, Voorschoten’s fanciest castle.
And here’s some cool shots of the De Kniplaan Windmill.
Although I’ve walked many, many times on that spit of land with the houses and knew there were lakes behind them, I had no idea just how much we were surrounded by water until I saw this shot.
My photos aren’t nearly as striking, but I’ve included them to show how the government allowed restaurants to expand their outside terraces to take over what was usually parking spots.
It was impressive to see how the restaurants reinvented their terraces to allow for extra distance between tables.
The restaurants were blessed with incredible spring and summer weather to help make up for the 2.5 months they were closed.
However, it wasn’t just the fall weather that emptied their terraces, but restaurants and bars were closed nationwide on October 14 for a mini-lockdown, 4.5 months after reopening, due to large spikes in the virus.
