EBC Day 10: Pheriche to Deboche...

I didn’t have a great night. I woke up at 1 a.m. feeling nauseous. I went back to sleep, but woke up at 2 a.m. and vomited―luckily I had made it to the nasty toilet in our room. I felt bad about waking up Terri. I hoped it was an isolated event since I had no headache, thus there was little worry about altitude sickness. I was relieved to fall back to sleep until our 7 a.m. wake-up alarm. It was nice to be able to sleep in now that we’re no longer rushing up the mountain.
I felt bad that I couldn’t finish all of my favorite breakfast: rosti with fried eggs. I really could have used all the energy I could get from a good meal.
Lucky for me, today was a relatively short and easy day. I did a very good job of just locking my sight onto Ishor’s boots rather than the steep cliffs making up much of our route.
Of course, I didn’t let an upset stomach or fear stop me from taking lots of photos.
For the first time we had to get out of the way of a yak train coming towards us that was carrying a lot of cargo. Fortunately we were on a wide part of the path or it would have been very scary.
