EBC Day 13: Rest Day in Phakding...

Good news: I didn’t vomit during the night and managed to eat half of my breakfast of omelette and Chapati bread. Bad news: the clouds were still low and thick and weren’t showing much promise of clearing. This was truly our first rest day as we stayed in Phakding while hoping that Mother Nature would look kindly on us so we could leave at some point that day.

Turned out that the weather never did clear enough, so we spent the day reading, writing and playing cards. Happy to report that I managed to eat an entire plate of dal bhat for dinner. Seems that my tummy had finally settled down. After dinner Carlin did a little presentation of what she learned from each of us. From Kent she learned patience, from Terri she learned positivity, and from me she learned to believe and be determined. She gave each of us an EBC patch, mini prayer flags and a scarf with the EBC map. It was a very touching and sweet way to end the day.
