Colorful Beach Huts...

The following day we got up early to have breakfast before leaving for an all-day excursion. While not a fan of tour buses, there was no way I was going to risk our lives by renting a car, so I searched for a company offering small-sized tours and found Go West Tours, which limited the group to 24. Our first stop was to see the Brighton Beach Boxes.

There are 82 colorful bathing huts that were historically used for women to change into their swimsuits.

We especially loved this box featuring The Great Wave, originally painted in Japan by Katsushika Hokusai around 1833.

It was clearly a popular tourist stop.

Apparently one sold in 2017 for $326,000 AUD (approximately $257,000 USD). Only locals are eligible to purchase the huts, but most are normally passed down to the next generation rather than going on the market.
