Tokyo's Most Visited Temple Complex...

On Sunday, August 9, we took the metro to Asakusa, the heart of Old Tokyo. This beautiful collage was in the subway station.

The crowds were intense. 

This is the Kaminari-mon, Thunder Gate. It's difficult to see the leering gods, one of wind and the other of thunder, on either side.

This 13-foot paper lantern is decorated with the character for thunder.

Between the gate and the temple is around 100 stalls of chachkes. Ashlynn was excited to be able to get personalized chopsticks.
