Stage 15: Blakey Ridge to Egton Bridge
Egton Bridge was a very small village with little sightseeing opportunities, but we did see some chickens......and a river called Esk...
...and a church. In St. Hedda’s Church, we found this depiction of how the biblical Veronica became the Patron Saint of Photographers, a fitting name for our own Veronica who loves photography.
We also admired this stained glass window of a local martyr, Father Nicholas Postgate, a priest who was quartered in 1679 for working as a Catholic priest. He is depicted here walking on a moorland track.
Lastly, we crossed a footbridge of stepping stones before completing the circle back to the Horseshoe for dinner.
