Stage 16: Egton Bridge to Robin Hood’s Bay

It was hard to believe that we were starting our final hike.

Sometimes there were sprinkles and sometimes sunshine.

Apparently this bridge into Grosmont dates back to 1700.

We saw some cool yellow bikes hanging in several villages denoting the route for a big cycle race, but this was by far the coolest welcome for the race.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway began operation in Grosmont in 1836 and closed in 1965, but reopened in 1973 as a tourist attraction. It’s possibly the busiest heritage steam railway in the world, but we were too busy to stop for a ride.
