EBC Day 1: First Waterfall and Stupa...

The scenery was beautiful with lush greenery and amazing waterfalls—this was our first of many.
As usual, I was the weakest link on the rocky bits, going very slowly whether we were going uphill or downhill. Ishor and Kent were very patient, so it all worked.
We passed many Buddhist stupas with this first one being freshly painted and particularly beautiful.
We also passed the first of many mani stones engraved with a mantra as a form of prayer in Tibetan Buddhism. Ishor instructed us to always try to pass these stones on the left side, in the clockwise direction in which the Earth and universe revolve, as a sign of respect to the local culture and for good luck.
