Australia National Botanic Gardens...

The next morning we had breakfast on the front porch. How cool are those folding doors that truly open Jane and Gene’s home up to the outdoors; there are similar doors on the other side of the open-plan kitchen, dining and living room opening up to their lovely backyard.
I was a bit skeptical about cycling with Jane and Gene across town since I’m so spoiled by the bike paths in Holland, but I was pleasantly surprised by the paths in Canberra and really enjoyed our ride. Our first stop was the Australia National Botanic Gardens. Like Melbourne, entrance to the gardens and museums were free.
The gardens were amazing with some cool sightings of a pink spiderweb...
...large lizards called water dragons...
...beautiful birds...
...funny plants growing what looks like corn cobs...
...and whimsical flowering plants.
