Celebrating the King’s Birthday...

While I was off exploring Australia, Jimmy was looking after Kati at home and helping to entertain our hash friends for King’s Day. First he started with a hash party on Koningsnacht, which is celebrated in The Hague on the evening before his birthday.
The turnout was impressive for the trail and party back at his office.
Then that Sunday morning he did a special brunch hash in Leiden where he recruited this sweet harriette to help him make a giant batch of scrambled eggs.
Meanwhile Down Under, King’s Day was celebrated one day later on the 28th at the Dutch Embassy, but we missed it as we were heading out of town that morning. Instead on the 27th, Jane and I went to the farmer’s market to buy some veggies...
...and fresh bagels.
There was a festive atmosphere with musicians in the parking lot...
...and pretty flowers.
