After the gardens and a ride through the university, Gene broke off from us to head to work, and Jane and I had lunch in downtown Canberra. We were always on the lookout for wildlife on our ride and were rewarded with spotting a large group of sulphur-crested cockatoos in a park.
As beautiful as I thought these large birds were, apparently the locals tend to consider them pests due to their large numbers, their loud squawks and damage they can do to crops.
Jane was very sweet to hold the bikes while I ran around and took photos.
